Port to Port is a new textile artwork celebrating the historic maritime communities of Lowestoft, Ipswich and Felixstowe.
Made by screen printing the personal memories, images and favourite objects of local participants from the workshops below they are turned into large-scale patchwork sails.
The artwork will transform and grow as it travels from one location to another over the coming months, becoming a dynamic portrait of Suffolk’s coastal life and culture.
If taking part in workshops, please bring a personal object or photo take has a special meaning to you and is part of your story that you may work with in the workshops. Some textile prints and imagery shared may be included in the Port to Port Patchwork sails which will be included in The Port to Port unveiling in The Hold, Ipswich in October.
