William Wallace

William Wallace grew up in East Anglia during the 1960’s and 70’s. Sewing from the age of 3,mainly buttons onto a piece of fabric to start with but developing an interest in acquiring other craft skills throughout early childhood. A love of horses combined with a chance encounter,age 10 started a wish to become a harness maker. He set about teaching himself by deconstructing then reconstructing old tack which was found abandoned in neglected farm buildings. At 13 years he made his first complete set of harness. In a career where his self taught skills have led to making furniture,luggage,clothing and more, he has continued to produce occasional sets of harness, insisting on hand stitching every piece and using only the finest materials.
