Abigail Lane

Lane studied Fine Art at Goldsmiths College and has lived and worked in Suffolk since 2007. She works in a small Tardis-like studio in her garden, an Aladdin’s cave now piled high and crammed full of art and materials from which she arduously conjures the magical work. Lane describes herself as a sculptural and installation-based artist, although her practice has never been restricted to a particular medium. Zig-Zag Lady (Spiral Milk), is part of a series of sculptures which reference Robert Harbin’s famous Zig-Zag Girl magic trick, whereby the magician’s assistant is placed inside a box and cut into three parts.
