‘You, Me, Us, The Balloonists’ was made for the corridor of Art Station and comes out of a period of work in the studio during the lockdown year and the artist focusing on hands; historical drawing of hands and the hands of the artist and family members in order to explore the quietness and possibilities of place and presence and the passing of time.
Clare works in lots of different ways; drawing, making, video, photography, painting; often bringing elements together into an installation. She’s interested in boundaries, the edge of things; where one thing might become another; how we move through horizons, coastlines, territories; with humour and our stories. The different states of having power, being powerless or disempowered and a latent state in between, fascinates her and comes into the work.
Clare Palmier is an artist, and has worked in regeneration projects over 20 years, and is founder and key member of the Art Station team since 2015.
