Oyster Land

Art Station Film presents a new documentary film by filmmaker, Matthew J. Harrison, a beautifully observed documentary about the oyster farmers of Mersea Island in Essex alongside one other short film.
Oyster Land is a film that spends time with the oystermen of Mersea Island and explores the ancient oyster culture of the city of Colchester. It’s an atmospheric journey of working on the waters of anestuary that has sustained a local trade for thousands of years.
“A documentary of much historical value. Against a backdrop of bird loud marshland and the inscrutable old North Sea”, Martin Newell, East Anglian Daily Times.
