Art Station Creative Programme intern – six months duration.

Job description:

The Creative Programme intern will assist the team to deliver the fun, all-ages Art and Learning programme, including exhibitions, talks, events, walks and workshops. Art Station is focusing more on our local natural environment and how we can look after it. You will be working with the Director, Programme Manager, Co-ordinator, Freelance Artists and our volunteers to offer high quality experiences for our participants and audience.

You will bring your own skills and expertise to the team and also gain and increase skills and experience in the following: Team working, day to day logistics re setting up and running a creative industries hub/venue, planning skills, presentation skills, managing office and booking software, basic event management, planning and delivering creative activities, promotion and marketing including social media co-ordination, basic budgeting and accounting admin, fundraising, introduction to becoming self-employed or setting up a small business. This will support you with skills needed in further education or entry level employment in the creative industries and offer transferable skills, useful in any sector.

Person description:

We are looking for someone aged 18 to 25 who is energetic, reliable, creative and committed to working in a creative organisation, who enjoys working with other people. You will be interested in learning and progressing and using initiative to solve problems as they come up. You will have some experience working in paid employment or you might have volunteered. We will expect you to already have some training and qualifications in creative subjects. You may be a graduate looking for a first paid job after college/University. You will enjoy contributing to the Art and Learning Programme. We will prioritise young people who aren’t currently in education, training or employment. You will be happy interacting with people you don’t know and working with different age groups. You are interested in the natural environment, local nature and wildlife.

Hours of work:

9.30 to 5.30. ( 8 hours per day) Mon to Friday. 3 days per week including one day (Saturday or Sunday) worked at the weekend at least twice per month. We will consider someone who is studying part time or who has their own creative practice.

Pay:
£22,000 p.a. pro rata (£6,100 for 3 days a week over 6 months contract)
Length of contract: Six months from beginning of contract.
