‘Exchange – Exploring the History of Saxmundham Telephone Exchange’ booklet

Minimum Price: £10.00

In September 2021, The Art Station partnered with Saxmundham Museum and BT Adastral Park to celebrate the historical significance of the 1950s former BT Telephone Exchange and Post Office building that serves as their current home.

A series of heritage open days invited the local community to engage with Saxmundham’s rich history as a hub of connectivity for the East Suffolk coast. ‘Exchange’ is a 40 page booklet taking you on a journey through Suffolk telecommunications history, with archive photos, interviews with former telephone exchange employees, and much more.

To find more information online about the project and the history of Saxmundham Telephone Exchange, head over to the microsite created in conjunction with the physical ‘Exchange’ booklets.

‘Exchange’ has been printed for a limited edition run, so please don’t hesitate if you’d like a copy!

Postage is free, alternatively email us at [email protected] if you’d prefer to arrange to come collect in person from The Art Station.
